Overview

Autoclave Vent Silencers are specially engineered acoustic devices designed to attenuate the high-intensity noise generated during steam discharge from industrial autoclaves and sterilization systems. Autoclaves operate using saturated steam under pressure for sterilization and process heating applications, where periodic venting and pressure relief operations can generate extremely high sound pressure levels.

During sterilization cycles, steam released through safety relief valves, vent valves, and exhaust systems produces high-velocity turbulent flow, resulting in excessive noise exposure that may exceed permissible occupational and environmental limits.

The vent silencer is designed to reduce exhaust noise effectively while maintaining safe pressure relief performance and acceptable system back pressure.

Working Principle

When pressurized steam is discharged from the autoclave chamber, it enters the silencer through a specially engineered diffuser section designed to:
