Fan Silencer / Acoustic Baffle Silencer

Advanced Airflow Noise Control System for Industrial Fans and Blowers

Overview

Fan Silencers, also known as Acoustic Baffle Silencers, are engineered to reduce aerodynamic noise generated by industrial fans, blowers, and air handling systems. High-velocity airflow, turbulence, blade passage frequency, and mechanical vibrations produced by process fans can generate significant noise levels that may exceed permissible industrial and environmental limits.

These silencers are specifically designed for installation on both the suction and discharge sides of industrial fans while maintaining optimized airflow performance and minimal pressure loss.

Our fan silencers are widely used for:

  • PA Fans (Primary Air Fans)
  • FD Fans (Forced Draft Fans)
  • ID Fans (Induced Draft Fans)
  • Process Blowers
  • Ventilation Systems
  • Industrial Air Handling Units

Working Principle

The fan silencer operates on the principle of absorptive acoustic attenuation. Airflow passes through specially designed acoustic baffle passages lined with sound-absorbing media protected by perforated metallic facings.

As the airflow travels through the silencer:

  • High-frequency aerodynamic noise is absorbed
  • Turbulence noise is attenuated
  • Sound transmission through duct systems is reduced
  • Airflow is straightened for improved flow stability

The internal aerodynamic configuration is optimized to:

  • Minimize pressure drop
  • Maintain uniform airflow distribution
  • Reduce turbulence generation
  • Ensure efficient acoustic performance

The straight-through airflow design allows effective noise attenuation without significantly affecting fan operating efficiency.
